Project 1


Through this project I have learned about technologies that access physical data, thought weekly activities done in class. Powerful tech trend research to help me make informed project choices for my upcoming modules, and selected have selected the Art or Design path individually or as a group based on the complexity of their project path.

Activity 1

In activity one we followed steve working with the arduino, code and a bread board to make lEDs light up

Activity 2

In activity two we followed steve and worked with using the Arduino and protopie for a working prototype.

Activity 3

In activity three we followed steve and worked with using the Arduino and touchdesign

This is what touch deisgn opened up to when I first opened it looked super cool Here we had just started the basic of connecting to the Arduino Serial Starting to add some components to the touch design piece to see how its functioning Close up of the differnt parts all being together and showing off how they work together Here is an image of the arduino we used when using touchdesign

Project 1 Concept


Project 1 Concept

For my project two my idea is a living canvas. People can “paint” with their different movements and emotions. Using a webcam and TouchDesign, the system captures body motion, gesture intensity, and facial expression to generate evolving visuals projected onto a wall or surface. These visuals are then extended into the physical world through an Arduino-controlled LED wall that mirrors the color and energy of the user’s mood. The way that the LEDs react is different for how each user is interacting with the wall flowing from calm, slow colors to energetic. The overall point is for the project to have a real like art piece that is different for every person.
